Lords Beat Wolverines, 5-1, to Start DR
|
The Baltimore Lords powered past the hometown Detroit Wolverines, 5-1, in the opener of the Divisional Round at Wolverine Field. Baltimore starting pitcher Larry Diego threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Lords now lead the series 1-0.
The Wolverines had trouble solving Diego, who surrendered 1 run on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"Larry pitched like a champ," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wolverine Field in Detroit.
