Seagulls Lose to Emeralds in Walk-Off
The Seattle Emeralds put one in the win column with an opening day 3-1 triumph over the San Francisco Seagulls. The crowd at Puget Field watched Denny Goldberg put on a fine performance. The win was credited to Phil Moore in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Wood took the loss.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Seattle. That's when Roberto Soto hit a 2-run home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Wood to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Goldberg.
