Though the conditions were not ideal, the Baltimore Lords and Atlanta Generals came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Baltimore Lords and the Atlanta Generals. Baltimore won it, 2-1. Baltimore starter Larry Diego was in command. Atlanta, with the loss, is still a robust 5-2.

Had Woodie Scheideler not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Scheideler hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lords.

In postgame remarks, Diego applauded his team's "toughness."
