Pobladores Get Thrilling 5-4 Win
The Los Angeles Pobladores beat the Twin Cities Northmen, 5-4, in 10 innings, in part because of right fielder Bobby Bridges. He went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 times. Los Angeles reliever Larry Seger, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in saves with 9, was credited with the win. His record goes to 3-4. Bob Cole took the loss for Twin Cities. The Pobladores raised their record to 38-33.

Los Angeles won the game in part because of Dick Hoffmeier. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 5-4. For the game, Hoffmeier had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Hoffmeier told the Los Angeles News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
