Hurons Earn 2-1 Home Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Toronto Hurons and the Baltimore Lords, pitcher Dan Crumm was masterful on the mound. The Toronto left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Crumm, now 8-6. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. With the victory, the Hurons upped their record to 37-36.
Jorge Luna, who led the ABL in slugging percentage with .532 in 1972, took Baltimore hurler Denny Boyd deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Hurons on top, 2-1. In all, Luna had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 2.
"I love playing this game, so you'll never see me not want to go out there and pitch," said Crumm.
