The New York Empires downed the Montreal Habitants, 5-2, at Queens Field. The Empires were led by Al Castro. Castro went 2 for 3 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nate Frampton picked up the win, lifting his record to 7-8 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 1 in 8 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Earning his 11th save of the year was Jack Pratt.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Castro hit a bases-clearing triple off Jeff Hess. It propelled the Empires into the lead, 4-1.

Said losing manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The victory gives the Empires a record of 39-33.
