New York Downs Pittsburgh, 5-3
Despite a great performance by Pittsburgh left fielder Don Keough, the New York Knickerbockers defeated the Industrials by the score of 5-3 at Allegheny Field. Keough was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Jack Forbes, who is tied for 8th in the NBL with a 2.79 ERA, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Ollie Hundley sewed up the save, his 7th.

Wayne Baker was 2 for 4 with 2 singles for New York. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Dennis Visco. It was his 38th hit of the season.

"It never gets old," said Baker. "Winning, that is."

With the victory, the Knickerbockers upped their record to 39-32.
