Cox Deals Philadelphia 3-0 Setback
|
Right-hander Larry Cox mesmerized the Philadelphia Quakers while leading the Chicago Traders to a 3-0 victory. Vern Hensley got the save, the 2nd for him this season. Chicago is now 31-41, Philadelphia 41-32.
Chicago starter Larry Cox was a master of his craft. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8.2 innings.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
