The Houston Drillers downed the Detroit Wolverines, 9-6, at Wolverine Field. Charlie Fee led the way, going 3-for-3 for Houston. The loss puts Detroit at 2-5.

Houston pitcher Randy Robins contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 5-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Robins said.
