Northmen Suffer 3-2 Road Loss
|
Seattle turned a good performance from starting pitcher Dave Gilson into a 3-2 triumph over the Twin Cities Northmen at Puget Field. Gilson got the win, improving to 3-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Phil Moore collected save number 13.
The Emeralds got a big at-bat from left fielder Javier Guerra. For the game, Guerra was 2-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Seattle a 2-1 lead.
Guerra attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
