New York starter Andy Humphrey pitched well against the Montreal Habitants at Queens Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Reliever Jack Neenan picked up the win. His record improves to 5-3. Hervé Lelièvre, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in holds with 6, took the loss. The Empires bumped their record to 40-33 with this win.

New York left fielder Jim Caldwell helped the Empires go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Caldwell hit a run-scoring single off Montreal pitcher Hervé Lelièvre.

"We have a lot of confidence in Andy," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
