Hurons Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Drillers, 4-2
Toronto turned a good effort from starter Bill John into a win over the Houston Drillers at Dominion Field. The Hurons won the game, 4-2. Steve Persenaire picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Tom McAteer, who finished 5th in the ABL in wins with 17 in 1974, was tagged with the loss. Toronto is now 31-42.

Jorge Luna was 1-4 for Toronto. The 1968 Rookie of the Year Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Bill Switzer. It was his 34th RBI of the season.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Toronto manager Jim Burns. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
