The Chicago Traders downed the Denver Burros, 4-1, at Union Field. Stellar pitching by Skip Crawford had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who led the NBL in innings pitched with 285.0 last year, handcuffed his opponent all game. Crawford got the win, improving to 9-9. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The 5th-place Traders go to 33-40.

John Sledd hit a 2-run home run off Bob Langham in the bottom of the first, which put the Traders ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Sledd had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
