The Kansas City Bulls knocked off the San Diego Captains, 5-3, in National Baseball League action at Independence Field. Kansas City pitcher and LaGrange, Georgia, native Mike Brown had an outstanding performance. Kansas City, at 42-33, holds down second place in the National Baseball League Western Division.
Dave Tislow had a big 2-run home run for the Bulls in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kansas City leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Ray McKenzie, the 12th overall pick in the 1974 draft, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Bulls on top, 4-1.
"Our offense was purring," said Kansas City manager DD Martin. "Like a well-oiled machine."
