Bobcats Deal Knickerbockers 8-2 Defeat
|
The Cleveland Bobcats and starting pitcher Myron Baird stifled the New York offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Knickerbocker Stadium. Cleveland is now 36-38, New York 38-37.
Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Bill Harper to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said New York manager Timothy Widholm. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
