New York first baseman Francisco Chavez had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 6-3. Bob Brion earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. His record is now 2-0. New York raised its record to 39-35 with the win.

With New York trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Chavez hit a fastball from Bruce Owen for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-1.
