Knickerbockers Deal Washington 5-3 Defeat
The New York Knickerbockers dealt the Washington Eagles a 5-3 loss at Monument Field. Dave Lester, who is tied for 8th in the NBL with a .490 slugging percentage, was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Chris Hull, who finished 5th in the NBL in wins with 17 in 1969, was the winning pitcher.
