Bohley Excels, But Dairymen Win
|
Though he had a terrific game, Frank Bohley could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Blockbusters, from absorbing a loss. Milwaukee won the game, 9-4. Bohley was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Guerra. He tossed 95 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The Dairymen improved their record to 34-41 with the win over Los Angeles.
The Dairymen got a big boost from catcher Charlie Fee who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Blockbusters hurler Bruce Shone. It was his 28th walk of the season and put Milwaukee on top, 1-0.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Fee told the Milwaukee Gazette. "And padding the Milwaukee win column."
