Wolverines Get Past Boston for 1-0 Win
The Detroit Wolverines beat the Boston Terriers, 1-0, at Wolverine Field. Starting pitcher John Fredrick was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. John Bailey snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 4-2 on the season. With the win, the Wolverines sit at 40-35.

The Wolverines got a clutch hit from right fielder Jim Caldwell. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Wolverines.

"We found a way to get it done," Caldwell said.
