Bluebirds Earn Late Win
The Brooklyn Bluebirds needed 11 innings to defeat the Cincinnati Packers, 7-6, at Flatbush Park. Brooklyn first baseman Ron Freeman had a superb performance. He was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Dave Norman. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-6. Today's win puts Brooklyn at 35-39, while Cincinnati falls to 34-39.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Freeman hit a sinker from Chris Montgomery for a solo home run. The Bluebirds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Freeman said.
