Lee Hits 2 home runs in Generals Win
|
A good performance from third baseman Preston Lee helped the Atlanta Generals defeat the Boston Terriers, 6-1. Lee was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Generals. George Palmer got the win, improving to 4-6. He pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Atlanta is now 35-39, Boston 28-45.
Lee contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Atlanta in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Lee took a sinker from Larry Haines and stroked the home run to right. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Generals to leap in front, 2-1.
Said losing manager David Molina: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
