Empires Make Hurons 4-1 Losers
|
New York Empires pitcher Jimmy Bell was in fine form, leading his team past the Toronto Hurons, 4-1. Chuck Hinck, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save. The Empires are now 38-36, while the Hurons fall to 26-48.
Earl Petersen, the 26-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Petersen contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 2-1.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Bell told the New York Daily.
