Baltimore Beats Montreal, 3-1
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Baltimore Lords and Montreal Habitants.
Baltimore starter Nate Summers put a stranglehold on the Montreal offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Lords to a 3-1 win. Summers yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-6. Denny Boyd earned the save for Baltimore, his 10th of the year.
Jim Pavlik, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in bases on balls with 46, helped out the Baltimore cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
Summers attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
The Lords saw their record improve to 35-41.
