Generals Earn Late Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Atlanta Generals and the Montreal Habitants, pitcher George Palmer was the difference between victory and defeat. The Atlanta left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Generals win. Atlanta bumps their record to 33-40 with the win.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Matt Legrow? The 30-year old center fielder Legrow stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Atlanta up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
Palmer attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
