The Boston Terriers downed the Montreal Habitants, 4-1, at LaSalle Stadium. Stellar pitching by Roger Long had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 3rd in the NBL in strikeouts with 189 in 1961, handcuffed his opponent all game. The Terriers go to 29-45 with the win.

Zach Hodge contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. His at-bat helped Boston get the win.

"Roger is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Boston manager David Molina.
