Habitants Lose to Generals in Walk-Off
The Atlanta Generals weathered a fine game by Montreal shortstop Oscar Corte to upend the Habitants, 7-6, at Atlantic Station Field. Corte was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Napoleon Russi, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. After today's action, Atlanta sits at 31-44; Montreal slips to 42-31.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Atlanta. That's when Ed Mika hit a solo home run off 30-year old left-handed pitcher Hervé Lelièvre to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Mika said in his postgame press conference.
