Northmen Get Clutch Win, 2-1
|
The Twin Cities Northmen got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jeff Jordan, who muffled the Los Angeles offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Northmen win at San Vicente Park. The winner was Jordan. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Mike Rios. Joe Gibson earned the save for Twin Cities, his 9th of the year.
Twin Cities took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Greg Clement hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Northmen in front, 2-1.
"Jeff gave us a heck of an effort," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
The loss makes Los Angeles 35-40.
