In a low-scoring contest between the Los Angeles Pobladores and the Chicago Hawks, Dave Wynn was the X factor. The Los Angeles right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Larry Seger got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 11th of the year. Los Angeles is now 40-34, Chicago 29-46.
Los Angeles used the hitting of Roger McCoy to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pobladores on top, 2-1. For the game, McCoy had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Chicago manager Mike Flaherty, "let me know."
