Big Day for Hembree as Packers Down Eagles, 5-2
|
The Cincinnati Packers handed the Washington Eagles a loss at Roman Arena. The final score was 5-2. John Hembree was one of the major contributors for Cincinnati. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. Picking up the win was Kenny Foster. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 4 and walked 1. Jerry Meek was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Early in the game, Hembree had a grand slam home run for Cincinnati. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Packers on top, 4-0.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch.
Cincinnati has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
