Bobcats Score Late, Topple Bluebirds, 6-5
|
Cleveland Bobcats starter Rick Tomlinson pitched a strong game against the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Lakefront Stadium, leading the Bobcats to victory, 6-5. The win went to Joe Clabaugh in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Dave Norman took the loss. Brooklyn's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Had Ruben Galvan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Galvan hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Bobcats.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Galvan.
