Washington Nets 5-4 Win Versus Packers
The Washington Eagles did just enough to sneak past the Cincinnati Packers, 5-4, at Monument Field. Washington pitcher Pedro Nunez, in particular, had a standout performance. Nunez got the win, improving to 6-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. He allowed 4 runs. Washington has won 4 straight, while Cincinnati has lost 4 in a row.

Had Jesus Olvera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Olvera hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Eagles.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Olvera.
