The Brooklyn Bluebirds got a good effort from starter Dick Conway in defeating the Cleveland Bobcats at Lakefront Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Frank D'Amico earned the save for Brooklyn, his 2nd of the year. With the win, Brooklyn goes to 37-39, while the Bobcats fall to 49-28.

Brooklyn took a 3-1 lead on Ron Eubanks's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Eubanks hit in the top of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher Ken Norford visibly frustrated.

"A great game, a great day," said Eubanks about the win. "I can't complain."
