Terriers Lose at Home, 5-3, to Toronto
|
Toronto pitcher Bill John did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Terriers, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 8 innings, John surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. He allowed 3 runs. Picking up the save was Alfonso Sosa, his 1st.
Toronto used a well-timed hit by Mike Walker to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Hurons ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said John.
Today's win puts Toronto at 35-43, while Boston falls to 30-47.
