Blockbusters Drop Dairymen, 7-3
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters weathered a fine game by Milwaukee center fielder Guillermo Morales to upend the Dairymen, 7-3, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Morales went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Larry Mitchell picked up the win, lifting his record to 9-7 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 7.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs. The setback makes Milwaukee 38-39.
Los Angeles center fielder Oscar Gonzalez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 70th hit of the season and put the Blockbusters ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Gonzalez, "one at-bat at a time."
