Big Game from Peters Not Enough, Captains Lose
Milwaukee and San Diego duked it out and the Dairymen came out victorious.

The San Diego Captains could not turn a fine performance from catcher Earl Peters into a win. Instead, the Milwaukee Dairymen prevailed, 9-8. Peters went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Captains, now 39-40, have lost 4 in a row.

The Captains had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Dairymen going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Ruben Galvan came to the plate. Galvan hit a 2-run triple on a 0-1 sinker from San Diego hurler Rick Wisniewski. It was Galvan's 1st triple of the year.

Dairymen manager Brandon Dudley wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
