LaSalle Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Montreal Habitants and Baltimore Lords.

Baltimore turned a good performance from starting pitcher Larry Diego into a 3-1 triumph over the Montreal Habitants at LaSalle Stadium. Diego yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-3. Denny Boyd notched his 11th save in 14 chances.

Baltimore took a 3-1 lead on Buddy Bursley's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Bursley hit in the top of the eighth, left Montreal pitcher Rich Barron visibly frustrated.

"Larry is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.

Baltimore now sits at 37-42, while Montreal falls to 47-31.
