Generals Handed 5-4 Loss by Baltimore
|
Baltimore Lords starter Jose Rodriguez found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Atlanta Generals. Rodriguez got the win, improving to 2-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 5 over 6 innings. He allowed 4 runs. Leon Fairley notched his 5th save in 6 chances.
Mike Sheffield went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Baltimore. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Bill Davis. It was his 66th hit of the season.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Sheffield said in reaction to the win.
After today's action, Baltimore sits at 37-40; Atlanta slips to 36-42.
