Seagulls Use Late Score to Top Hawks, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Chicago Hawks, Reggie Wright, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1967, was the difference-maker. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. San Francisco reliever Mark Gaynor picked up the win, raising his record to 3-4. Gary Ingram was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Seagulls to 39-38.
San Francisco used the hitting of Scott Wagner to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Seagulls on top, 3-2. For the game, Wagner had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"Reggie did a nice job," said Seagulls manager Al Borie.
