Tingle Lifts Wolverines to 8-1 Triumph
The Detroit Wolverines finished off the New York Empires, 8-1. Much of the credit belonged to second baseman Steve Tingle. Tingle went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 5 for the Wolverines. Detroit's record now stands at 42-36, placing them third in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Wolverines grabbed the lead when Tingle hit his 6th double of the season. The 2-run double off Larry Stanford made it 2-1, Detroit.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Kurt Peterson said.
