Pittsburgh right fielder Lew Ward contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 80th hit of the season and put the Industrials ahead, 3-1.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Munoz.
