Pittsburgh Beats Washington, 9-1
|
Pittsburgh Industrials pitcher Dennis Visco was in fine form, leading his team past the Washington Eagles, 9-1. Visco, who finished 2nd in the NBL in ERA with 2.20 in 1972, went the distance for Pittsburgh. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. Pittsburgh, with the win, is 6-2.
Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Alex Robinson to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Industrials ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Brandon Tucker.
