Bobcats Get Clutch Win, 6-5
|
The Cleveland Bobcats extended their winning streak.
Though he had a terrific game, Jeff Madsen could not prevent his team, the New York Knickerbockers, from absorbing a loss. Cleveland won the game, 6-5. Madsen went 2-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Joe Clabaugh snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-4 on the season. Brian Williams suffered the loss.
Cleveland took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Rick Gruber hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Bobcats in front, 6-5.
"I believe in our guys," said Cleveland skipper Daniel Mays. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The Bobcats have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
