Wolverines Win with Late Heroics
The Detroit Wolverines picked up a win at Wolverine Field, downing the New York Empires, 4-3, in 14 innings. On the mound for Detroit was left-hander Scott Litwak, who played a pivotal role in the win. Elmer Bernstein came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The victory gives Detroit a record of 41-35.

The Wolverines got a clutch hit from center fielder Chuck McCormick. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolverines.

"Scott did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said Detroit manager Alex Wobbema.
