The Dairymen had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Milwaukee, with one out. St. Louis, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Tommy Pickett dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 changeup, he grounded out.
