Starting pitcher Matt Broughton was a major factor in the 4-0 Montreal Habitants triumph over the Atlanta Generals. The winning pitcher was Broughton, now 3-4. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The 6th-place Generals have dropped 5 straight games.
The Habitants got a gift in the top of the fifth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Matt Broughton reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Montreal.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Broughton said.
