Toronto and Boston duked it out and the Hurons came out victorious.
The Toronto Hurons knocked off the Boston Terriers, 7-4, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Felipe Chavez was a big reason Toronto won. The third baseman went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Larry Haines got the win, improving to 4-11. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1.
In the top of the first, with the game still scoreless, Chavez hit a 2-run single to put his team in the lead.
In comments to the Toronto Bulletin, Chavez admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The Hurons raised their record to 29-50.
