Traders Edge Blockbusters, 4-3
|
The 4-3 Chicago win over Los Angeles was due in large part to Phil Parker. The Traders shortstop was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Paul Schuler got the save, his 1st in 2 chances. The Traders sport a record of 33-48.
Parker had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the seventh for the Traders. Coming up with the bases loaded and Chicago trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"It's not about individual awards," Parker told a Chicago Observer reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
