Lords Clip Terriers, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Baltimore Lords and the Boston Terriers, pitcher Nate Summers was the difference between victory and defeat. The Baltimore right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Lords win. Summers, now 7-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The 5th-place Lords now have a record of 38-43.
Baltimore got a knockout punch from Danny Phillips. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Nate pitched one heck of a game for us," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
