The Detroit Wolverines relied on a great performance from John Fredrick, who is a two-time All-Star, to beat the Baltimore Lords, 2-1, in 10 innings at Wolverine Field. Jeff Peachtree, 7-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The win lifted the Detroit record to 47-31.

The Wolverines got a clutch hit from catcher Gasper Copeland. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolverines.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Copeland said.
