The San Diego Captains defeated the Milwaukee Dairymen, 9-7, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Ron Roe, who finished 2nd in the NBL in triples with 11 in 1970, was a standout performer for San Diego. His 4 hits included 1 single and 3 doubles -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 5 he knocked in. With the win, San Diego upped its record to 46-32.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 19th, until Roe delivered big-time for San Diego, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Doug Keene. The game-changing hit put the Captains on top, 8-6.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Roe. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
