Northmen Use Late Surge to Win
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Bluff Park, dropping the Dallas Wranglers, 6-3. Dave Church, who finished 3rd in the NBL in innings pitched with 259.1 in 1969, was the difference-maker. In 9 innings, Church surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 5. He allowed 3 runs. Twin Cities goes to 5-3.

Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Steve Garcia to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Northmen on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
