The Baltimore Lords picked up a win at Queens Field, taking down the New York Empires, 4-3. Starting pitcher Frank Governor was a big reason why. Larry Diego was credited with the save, his 7th in 10 tries. The victory gives Baltimore a record of 41-39.
Bob Carter had a direct impact on the outcome. Carter contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Baltimore up, 3-0.
"Frank was dictating to their hitters," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
