Packers Score Late to Nip Eagles, 2-1
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cincinnati Packers and the Washington Eagles, Joe Clabaugh, who finished 2nd in the NBL in wins with 18 in 1967, was the difference-maker. The Cincinnati right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Cincinnati is now 40-40, while Washington is 34-49.

The decisive blow was delivered by Frank Bohley in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Richie Kingery to win the game for Cincinnati. The home crowd went nuts.

Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch called it "a darn good win."
