Hawks Drop Seagulls, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Hawks and the San Francisco Seagulls, Kevin Edwards, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in complete games with 3, proved to be the difference. The Chicago left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Hawks win. Edwards, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Byron Creasey recorded the save, making him 1 for 1.
Chicago used the hitting of Sergio Morales to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hawks on top, 3-2. For the game, Morales had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Morales after the game.
The second-place Seagulls have dropped 4 straight games.
