Blockbusters Down Captains, 5-3
|
Los Angeles starter Billy Duprey pitched well against the San Diego Captains at San Diego Sporting Complex. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3, in 10 innings. Joe Hamby, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities. Los Angeles is now 37-44, while San Diego is 46-35.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Terry Pickering to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blockbusters on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Pickering said.
