In a tight contest between the Milwaukee Dairymen and the Los Angeles Blockbusters, Andy Campbell was the determining factor. The Milwaukee right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Denny Grissinger, 2-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The Dairymen go to 30-52 with the win.

Had Gary Branan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Branan hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Dairymen.

"We found a way to get it done," Branan said.
