Santiago Helps Habitants Beat Northmen, 7-5
|
Montreal catcher Emanuel Santiago played a vital role in his team's 7-5 conquest of Twin Cities. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Montreal. Hervé Lelièvre was credited with the save, his 11th in 13 tries. Twin Cities's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
With Montreal leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Santiago hit a 2-run single off Twin Cities hurler Jeff Jordan. It was the 33rd hit of the season for Santiago and put his team ahead, 6-3.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Santiago.
