The Dallas Wranglers faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher Ray Heath, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mission Field by a final score of 3-2. Heath went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Charlie Sokol got the win, improving to 6-6. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. Getting the save was Frank Dunn, his 14th.

Larry Messenger came through with a big-time hit for Dallas. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Dallas skipper William Albrecht.
