Pittsburgh Industrials starter Ron Winder was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Washington Eagles, 3-1. John Lonergan earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries. The National Baseball League Eastern Division-leading Industrials are 52-30.
Keith MacPherson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1965 draft, aided the Pittsburgh cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-5.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Winder.
