Seagulls Pop Hawks, 9-1
|
San Francisco Seagulls starter Tim Stambaugh had all his pitches working at Mission Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-1 San Francisco win over the Chicago Hawks. Stambaugh, now 12-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Seagulls have an impressive 54-28 record.
The Seagulls benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the second. With Jose Barroso at bat and San Francisco leading 2-1, the Chicago miscue allowed San Francisco to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Barroso said.
