Northmen Squeeze By Seattle, 2-1
|
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Twin Cities Stadium, taking down the Seattle Emeralds, 2-1, in 10 innings. On the mound for Twin Cities was right-hander Gary Forgette. He played a central role in the triumph. Twin Cities reliever Paul Whitaker picked up the win to move to 5-3. Phil Moore suffered the loss. Twin Cities is now 36-44.
The decisive blow was delivered by Melvin Perez in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Phil Moore to win the game for Twin Cities. The home crowd went nuts.
Perez called the win "a pick-me-upper."
